Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster...

My wife recently found this pocket watch among her things, it used to belong to her grandfather. I don't know how old it is, or if it's battery operated, or even how to open it, and I don't want to take any chances. If anyone could give me some advice on opening it, cleaning it, getting it running again, I'd appreciate it.

Given that it says "Majestron" and "Quartz" on the face I'm going to guess that it's battery operated.  My wife picked up a Majestron Quartz pocketwatch at goodwill as she liked the looks.  Changed the battery and it works.

I don't have it  in front of me, but from memory it was a press fit case.

Look for a small nail notch on the edge of it.

Thanks for the help. I was anxious about trying to open it, but after reading your reply, I popped the face and back off, and discovered that you were right... and strangely, the battery was already missing. I'll have to take it to the drug store and see if I can find one that fits.
