In 2010 I was trying to come up with a Steampunk idea, something different. The idea I had then flesh out into a screenplay....which I will start the second draft after Dragoon Con.  Wink
I costume a lot as Jason from the Friday the 13th movies. I started to wonder what would Jason look like in the 1800's, so I began sketching out ideas. As I developed the character and the story I started adding other elements in to the mix. I created a mother figure that was mad like Dr. Frankenstein....but had a bond to her son like Jason's mother. I added a love story...uncontrollable anger....and on and on...
All of this set not just in the 1800's but in the old west. What better place for a killer!  Wink Grin

So here is the mask so far...still have some details to finish, fix the leather bandana, and still trying to come up with some lenses for the goggles. Have a few ideas but...no hurry....yet.  Wink

The idea behind this is that Zachariah was killed, but his mother brought him back. His heart is now a large clock on his chest. This is the hardest piece, because I'm working on making all the gears inside move. I'm using an old walkman, I just hope the idea works.. Still have a ways to go.

I like the top photo. The Cowboys of Tattooine, or possibly the Nerf Herders.
Sorry, just my threadrot.

Nice work! The gasmask for some reason looks a bit creepy to me, don't know why... Oh and I REALLY like that red valve knob, thingy.... Sadly, I can't seem to find one over here in the Netherlands Sad

Zachariah...

Overall I really like the gas mask... it is a great concept and I agree it has a nice creepy feel to it...
The round goggles look familiar... but you have incoporated them well....

The chest piece is very cool!  Keep going friend... look forward to seeing many more updates!

Yeah, this was my best overall goggles. Still think I can do better, but after three different attempts, I just had to go with somthing due to time. I'll be coming back to the goggles down the road.  Wink

He is a much better shot of the Zachariah's mask. Still need tubes in the back and put in the lenses. But for the most part complete!

Here is one of two sickles he carries! Still need to weather and bloody up a bit.  Wink

Hope by the weekend I'll have a full costume picture ready!

One idea that you might consider:  put a small, slow running electric motor with an offset flywheel behind the clock.  By carefully regulating the speed, you could make the clock/heart appear to beat.  Add a concealed rheostat to change speed, so the "Heart' beats faster when you wish to appear excited or agitated.

Before and after of his sickles...weathered,,,and bloody!  Wink Smiley

Hopefully mid-week I'll have a full costum pic!  Grin

The sickels remind me of the old 'hook man' stories.

Make a few extra & hang one on a car door handle now & then,,,  ESPECIALLY if the car is parked in an out-of-the-way place & the windows are steamed up!
