Thanks guys  Grin

The gun is only one of a planned 3 interchangeable lenses I have slated, the original , the gun and one other i have yet to decide on. I will keep the camera without the cover because i agree it does have that older look.

Any suggestions for the 3rd lens? (it's nice that the lens' s are from a vitamin water bottle so i can make a whole slew of them!)

Looks good.  Honestly, I'd leave it there.  Much more will appear overdone.
Of all things, I especially like the nose piece.  The paint detail on that really adds a bit of completion to the art.

I agree with ya Dr Tom about the adding of more stuff. I am done adding now it's refining , finish painting etc.
The nose piece was a whim and I am pleased with how it came out. I may add a 3rd strap to pull it upwards more on my head it sits a touch low.

Only thing I have left to complete now are the extra lenses =) Still figuring out what i want for the 3rd one.

Hrmn...skull and crossbones?  Ergmn...How about a mechanical-looking eye (Harry Potter's "Mad Eye Moody" comes to mind).

Nope, not coming up with any gems right now...

Hehe it's ok Dr. It's not a easy decision.

While i am deciding I am trying to work out a box for display. Any suggestions from anyone who has made one or the like would be appreciated.

Go hunting for old Jewellery boxes!

I got a great one for my raygun - coplete with nice fiddleback woodgrain on the top.

Most wooden boxes can be 'lowered' by unscrewing the lid and cutting down the sides before reattaching the lid.

If you can make up a display mount inside the box for the item even better - and if you are having interchangable parts, consider a box that allows for accessory 'compartments' (with little lids).

Finally - a set of instructions, printed in old type with lithographic technical renderings, tucked in a pocket inside the box lid.

And an original bill of sale and a waranty card! (Give the whole thing some 'provinance')

All too easy huh? Roll Eyes

Well then here's a early sneak peak :
Keep in mind I just started on the box tonight, its a stacked version of a larger cigar box i have multiple of, and it needs some cleanup etc. There is no lining or any of the little surprises i have planned. I will get some brass brackets to hold the 2 sections together add foam and lining, then find someone who can aid me with labels and litho drawings as I cannot for the life of me attempt those..lol. I also have plans for the lid so no worries there.

Yes, Yes and Yes!

Great box - complete with spots on the lid to insert your own brass etched panels. As far as lithographed drawings of your items, perhaps photo's of them imported into Photoshop and then the judicious application of filters?

PS - I made an amazing find yesterday, about to post in Metaphysical 'cos it will never make it to tactile!

Another thought for the kit - how about an old leather camera case for the lens unit? Then that case could sit in the box with the other bits and bobs.

We need to come up with an appropriate name for the manufacturing firm that can be scrolled across the box lid....

'Taggert Industries Singular Focus and Disabling Device' - guaranteed to remove any depth of field.

They look wonderful, and I especially like their graduating sizes. For the box, perhaps have holders with different depths for each lens?

Also, did you decide to frost the LED case?

Small update,
I added some borders and a bottom to the box, the side and rear borders are not glued in yet as i still have some things to adjust. I will be also redoing the inside of the top and possibly add a brass border over the edges to clean everything up. Also need to figure out how i want the shelf to be. This is just a test photo for feedback, the tools represent where the took kit will go.
