It must be truly cold then - they moved over to this country quite some while back

Oh, found out! It's 16º in Fahrenheit, not that bad; I was in Toronto a few Februarys ago, and it never got above -11º c, and that wasn't so bad!
I’m sorry, but anything lower than 15 C is too bloody cold, beyond that it’s only a matter of degree, right now its somewhere around -15 without the wind chill, and at night, it gets down around -30. My breath has a habit of crystallizing on my moustache three steps out the door on the way to work. Anyway, fantastic work as always.

Personally I thought the trigger was just perfect. Love the smooth lines of the latex studded thumbguard and iI do admire the inventive use of red pipe cleaners.
So how is the weather in the Antipodes you all say?
BLOOMMING HOT! It would melt the chrome of your balls and turn them all soft - without an oven!
Appropo of nothing - would you believe that TWELVE steampunk enthusiasts and BG posters PHYSICALLY gathered in the one place this morning at the Camberwell Market (great place to buy Thunderbus triggers).
You could see us all on Google Earth!
Unlike your trigger...

If i didn't know better, maduncle, I'd say that was sarcasm! Anyway, here IS the trigger: made from a small momentary electric switch, with a brass trigger, which, when pulled, activates this: The business end, now sporting three high-power blue LEDs. the upper tank now sports this: a n(a)tty little makers mark. That's all for tonight, Herr Döktor is tired from all the frenetic hard work, and going ice skating in the open air. edit: TO MAKE THINGS A LITTLE CLEARER, NATTINESS-WISE.

The trigger is perfect - if I had just seen that pic I'd've assumed it was the original! The ntty(*) makers mark is rather ntty(**), too (* Natty? Netty? Nifty? Nutty?) (** Natty and/or nifty)

You never cease to amaze me good Döktor, love the trigger! The trigger activated light is fantastic, someday we must discuss how this is done, and I must say that the paint work looks even better with all the little details added in! Will that hair be available on ebay? Surely one would want to purchase such a item that has laid hands on the god like Thunderbluss!

Unfortunately, the cat wants her hair back, it's only for illustrative purposes. I'll take some more pictures later this week, I'm feeling to unmotivated tonight; anyway, my fevered brain is busy working on what the display stand for this weapon will look like!

'Tis a thing of beauty, Herr Dok! And if you need more cat hair for future projects, I have ginger and brown tabby available. Just give me a few minutes to collect it from the upholstery, plus a few extra days for shipping and handling.

(sarcasm free post)
Wonderful work there sir - that metal finish paint effect does look a treat with all the details and the dark look toward inside edges add depth to the components. I believe that this paint is available in Australia and there is a firm in Melbourne who specialise in it (including the tints) - so I will be considering it for future use.
Although my own first blunderbuss build "The Sporting Chance" will be also sporting that worn well used rusty look.
As for a display mount - plaque or box?
And to compliment the thunderbuss - perhaps use one of those cheap Jar Jar Binks masks, fill it with stuffing and mount it on a trophy board...
...labelled 'for the benefit of mankind' (oops - slipped on the sarcasm button)
