Zola's playing a really deep game here, and if she gets found out she'll be in a whole new world of hurt. Someone may even set up the machines she's hooked up to to kill her under the guise of "healing her faster". |

Heterodynes unlike other sparks have a particular scent which Jagers can detect, perhaps a mutation which Jagers due to their teratongenetism can detect? There isn't any indication that other Sparks have this gift? (being a spark is probably a different mutation). No Jager has stated that Higgs smells like a Heterodyne. Does he smoke the pipe to mask it? It would explain a smoking character in an age where smoking in all forms is frowned upon. I don't think any other character smokes in the comic. Several people have mentioned the ever present pipe as a characteristic of Higgs.
Just a thought, if Higgs is a sparkless Heterodyne, it may be that he has no scent, as the Jagers did not seem to notice a scent on Agatha until her spark came through. http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20030203 |

We've known they were reactivated since the group that went to retrieve the stolen stuff disappeared. We even know they were "impertinent" so Fraulien Snaug when Agatha ordered the Castle to let her get it.
