Everything the Foglios write is more interesting than what I have been able to speculate.  Thta is why they are successful at this stuff.

If her resistance is drug based it could be part of Dr Sun's detox programme.

It's not drug based, it's programming:

Zola has Lucrezia snared in a "neural trap", so Lucrezia was completely unable to take over. And Zola has full access to Lucrezia's memories.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Zola's playing a really deep game here, and if she gets found out she'll be in a whole new world of hurt. Someone may even set up the machines she's hooked up to to kill her under the guise of "healing her faster".

I am amused by the reference to the Doc Rat web comic.
It makes me wonder how many other references and in jokes I've missed.

Also virtually every advertisement of any kind in the comic that isn't directly linked to the plot, and many street signs, shop names etc.

There is a list of webcomics mentioned in Girl Genius on the wikia (http://girlgenius.wikia.com/wiki/Shoutouts_to_other_webcomics) although its not up to date. Has to be said I missed most of these the first time round.

Also virtually every advertisement of any kind in the comic that isn't directly linked to the plot, and many street signs, shop names etc.

Here being a good example:

I had picked up on some of those, but it seems I'm only getting about 10% of the references. That's not nearly good enough.
I may need to take some time off to catch up on more web comics.  Grin

Indeed general Khrizhan does not wear a hat. Strange since it could be thought/guessed at that he was the more senior of the three

Have you considered the scarcity of Worthy Opponents for Khrizhan? Let alone ones who take a size 27 in hats?

more info here:
http://girlgenius.wikia.com/wiki/J%C3%A4gergenerals

Khrizhan is the bluer green fellow with the gold tipped tusks.

Back to the exiting topic of hats:
Dose Goomblast's brass dome really qualify as a hat (it does apear to be riveted on)?
Is Gills hat Khrishans old one with new lettering? (http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20080512 and the next page http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20080514 may imply it?)
Have we ever seen mamma in a hat?

"What We Know of the Ether" - 1906

« Reply #838 on: March 20, 2011, 12:33:16 am »

Heterodynes unlike other sparks have a particular scent which Jagers can detect, perhaps a mutation which Jagers due to their teratongenetism can detect? There isn't any indication that other Sparks have this gift? (being a spark is probably a different mutation). No Jager has stated that Higgs smells like a Heterodyne. Does he smoke the pipe to mask it? It would explain a smoking character in an age where smoking in all forms is frowned upon. I don't think any other character smokes in the comic. Several people have mentioned the ever present pipe as a characteristic of Higgs.

Just a thought, if Higgs is a sparkless Heterodyne, it may be that he has no scent, as the Jagers did not seem to notice a scent on Agatha until her spark came through.

Quoted for truth.  Where else would one be expected to keep a giant mechanical squid?

C'mon folks! We've known the were mechanical squid in the cistern since Zola forced the Cockroach to tell where he hid the stuff he stole. We've known they were reactivated since the group that went to retrieve the stolen stuff disappeared. We even know they were "impertinent" so Fraulien Snaug when Agatha ordered the Castle to let her get it.

That was months ago, though. I'm lucky if I can remember what I had for lunch yesterday.
