Fantastic!  I've finally found a place that has some Las Vegas Steampunkers.  I had put together a forum specifically for Las Vegas fans, before I had found out about this place.  You can check it out here if you like:

http://pub7.bravenet.com/forum/582322990/

Now to find out if there are any events to take place locally.

Hey there Newt and Aggy,

Welcome ProfMalaprop,

Sorry we've been so quiet lately, been busy over the holidays.  Hope everyone is well, and maybe we can all get together after the new year

Welcome all new posters to this board.

About events coming up.  My sister is involved in a "production company" (they throw parties) and they have something called the Anonimity Ball coming up in March/April time frame 2010.  This will be the 2nd ball like this they held. The theme for the ball this year is Steampunk/Air Ship Pirates.
She also mentioned something about contests they might be doing leading up to the ball.

I will post more info about this ball as I get it (i.e. Date, Time, Cost, etc).

Just thought I would put it out there as an FYI in case you are interested and wanted to begin getting yuor outfits together.

Hello all, I have RSVP'ed Yes for the meetup.  I'll only be able to stay for a hour or so cause I have work that night.

Try the link without the comma at the end:

http://www.meetup.com/lvsteam/

...and the time for this Meetup is 7pm.

Feel free to sign up even if you can't make this meetup.  There will be more in the future.

To follow up on this, I'm one of the people in said "production company", and the event and location have been announced. Anonymity 2 http://tinyurl.com/ygjezol, at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, in the Twilight Ballroom, Friday, March 26th, 9PM until everybody collapses.

And as I did last year AFAN and I be getting ready for the AIDS WALK LAS VEGAS 2010. Help us in the battle against HIV/AIDS here in southern Nevada. If you will be in Las Vegas on April 25, 2010 Join my crew of pirates and thousands of other people as we take to the streets to support those living with this disease. Together we can make a difference.

AFAN is Nevada's oldest and largest AIDS service organization. Providing more than 24 years of service to our community.

If you cannot join us walking, please give to the cause by going to the URL at the bottom of this post and donate as much as you can. Any little bit helps, and any Great bit would be fantastic.
I have joined a team of Black Magicians known as Penn and Teller this year, and they have promised that all the money I raise they will match it coin for coin.

Please also forward this post to any who can to help us further.

For The Crew
If you squirm at the Conqueror Worm,This is no place for thee
Or if you fright at the mere site,Of the corpse of my Annabel Lee
If you fear there's something you hear,A heart beating under the floor
Still your heart, there's no need to start,It's just me having tea with Lenore

The Gypsy Nomads are going to by playing at Yayo Taco on June 7th. My girlfriend and I will most likely be there; she might wear a corset, but I'm not going to dress up.

Sounds like fun.  If I can remember I'll go. No dressing up for me either as I have to work right afterwards.

I don't know if anyone is still checking this thread, but Hi. I just recently gained interest in steampunk and also recently move to Vegas. I was hoping to meet some people with similar interest and learn more about this culture.
