Are there any Steampunkers in the Las Vegas area perchance?

My husband and I were hoping to find some fellow Steampunkers willing to share in a small steampunk style get-together, with food and drinks appropriate to us.

i live in vegas and have also been looking for people who are steampunk. im interested in the genre yet never really seen any body in vegas

Ah Murdoch! My husband and I are so glad to know there are others who appreciate steampunk, here in our very back yard! We don't often venture down to the strip in our finery, but prefer to don our steamy inspired clothes in nature's glory, or when we travel, and on holiday. Perhaps sometime in the near future we could form a meet up, and perhaps even form our very own Las Vegas Steampunk gathering! What an adventure that could be!

At any rate, it is nice to know we are not alone in this windy desert known as Las Vegas!

Ooh ooh me!!

Adelaide Braun, Hawkes-Leggett, and I all live in Vegas. I'd love to have some more folks to go on steamy outings with - as it is, I mostly end up dressing up for kicks to go shopping or on daring treks through wildernesses of snow (aka walks around Mt. Charleston). I've found most places in Vegas are not conducive to steamery. ):

I love the idea of a meetup, and I'm sure my companions would agree. If you see a pixieish girl with short red-streaked hair, goggles and an HMS Ziggurat airship patch on her shirt around town, don't hesitate to say hi! =P

im happy ill be able to experiance the steam. lol idk but i think i muight be the youngest steampunk(that i know!) im 15 lol but as to a meet i cant wait to see a gathering for real and is anyone around here a fan of Voltaire?

Hello from across the pond. The Major and I were just talking about a trip to Vegas in the winter. Our quiet time of year work wise . How good would it be to combine it with a steampunk meet. We could bring a bit of the Asylum event with us. We will watch this thread with interest. Not having been before we will rely on your local knowledge of where to stay And what to do etc. yours Lady Elsie.

Good day to you all!

I just wanted to revive this thread a bit. I think that this would be simply lovely. There is a Victorian tea room here that we could meet up at, and some lovely outdoor areas that would be fun to traipse about in, not to mention strolling down the strip in out Victorian/Steampunk garb!

Mr Griffin and I just got a new house in the Southern Highlands Las Vegas area and we would like to meet up and have tea with everyone this summer! SO if you would like to come along, pipe up and we will brainstorm on a date!

Greetings to fellow Las Vegas Steampunkers. I also live in the las vegas valley. I have been participating in Medieval recreation for 15 years, with the last 8 portraying a Pirate.
I have always liked and been aware of the Steampunk genre for several years now and with it gaining popularity recently I decided to build myself and my family Steampunk kits (Kits= Garb, costumes, etc). When I did a search for likeminded individuals I found this page and this topic.

I will be leaving town (the country really) soon and will not be back until Oct/Nov time frame, but I would be really interested in any activities you might be willing to do in the winter months. I will checking these boards regularly.

Upon my return I am going to form a local pirate group to portray pirates during the Golden Age of Piracy (late 17th century, early 18th) and was also considering having the group do AirShip Piracy as well.
This group would participate in local faires, demonstrations, conventions, etc and also try to get out to do some faires etc in neighboring states.
I am looking to do a family group as I have a wife and two children. Thought I would throw this out there as well since we are talking about things to do in Vegas dealing with Steampunk.

Well, I don't live in the area (far from it, actually, on the east coast), but I think I have bit of information you'd all like to hear:

Abney Park may possibly be playing in Vegas, and there are currently looking for a venue. You guys should get in contact with them if you have any ideas.

That would be very cool. I love Abney Park, but with my luck they will be in town when I am out.

I am upset that I will be missing them at Pirate Daze in September.

I will have to check out their site to see if they havde a date or venue yet.

I just wanted to drop a quick note in and say HI! to anyone in the LV area. We'll be in Las Vegas in early October on through Halloween and as always I'd love to arrange a meet-up and shoot some photos of locals in their finery.
