latest update, now with shorter snoz probe and bitmapped textures

Looking very nice there doc, especially the textures, so i'm going to take this oppurtunity to make you cry:

What I was reffering to is what is in the red circle - the superstructure ; the bow and stern of the superstructure are too long.
The prong on the front is the bowsprit, and it was about the right length- although it still looks good, so don't bother changing it back.
The fins and vane are both made of smooth brass, and the vane is a slightly different shape, as shown in the green circle. In fact, if you can send me the texture files and a rough idea of what to do, i'll photoshop them.
Thanks for the effort your putting in, I really appreciate it, and sorry about all the corrections- feel free to ignore any that are a complete pain in the arse.

those are easy enough to do, 3D modeling is just a matter of stretch and push once you have the vertexes in place.

Thanks Rowan of Rin for the reminder. I got sidetracked with a project sorting and scanning Autochrome stereo views and need to get back to the collage. We are snowed in today so maybe I can finish it.

Update: Aug. 2, 2011 - Oh my does this brings back memories! I wrote this in Baltimore in the winter. I am now living in Dallas and it is August with a record breaking heat wave. 106 yesterday and more of the same today!

Turner was one of the few who actually painted an airship - in the background of "The Fighting Temeraire" we see the ghost of the future in a spectral airship hovering in the clouds.
