that top is very nice ms. Honeythorn, stern without going goth. stern is good I think the picture looks just fine, you just need to get out of the kitchen and see the world! the top and the skirt work well together. I always swoon for a nicely turned hip, but the thought of it adorned with a fully equipt toolbelt and holsters may be much too much for my heart to bear! all that and a top hat would surely be my undoing! (or perhaps a fez?) I may need oxygen..... Ah thank you sir! Wearing a white shirt is exceptionally alien for me really. I never wear that shirt in public . I would have preferred a dark grey one but have no such thing as of yet I'm afraid. I do indeed have a top hat! But I was in such a rush that I didn't think to put it on. Luella, I got the skirt from the usual goth shop I get most of my non DIY'ed clothes

*laughs* I love this next one. I tripped over my own feet either right before or right after it was taken, Oliver's sorta steadying me.
The rascal - I'm certain he made you think you tripped over your own feet.....

Luella: Most of those outfits don´t seem that special to me, at least not steampunk. However the one for a soiree thing looks really good actually.
aw. really? at least I like them. the "soiree" one is the least steampunk and I knew it, but I still liked it. Sean, thanks. I said "tried" to be frugal, I didn't say I succeeded. Honeythorn, that's an adorable outfit. where did you find that cute skirt? I think I agree with your parents on looking very smart. One of the beautiful things about this forum (other than your presence here) is the fact that we all essentially have our own definition of what constitutes "steampunk". I personally don't think that an outfit has to be bristling with leather, gears and obscenely gigantic pseudo combat boots from Mars to be SP. You simply have a unique take on the style Ms Dobson and it looks marvelous on you. Also, if Mayor Daily gives you shit about your ray gun tell him to sod off. Ms. Honeythorn, You look delightfully wenchy in that outfit and the piratey hair accouterments suit you! DB Damn, Commodore Beben is smooth. He said exactly what I have been trying to find the words for. Miss Dobson, you keep doing your jazzpunk thing. It is way more historically representative than most of what we see here. (and cute as a button.) Miss Navane, I think he even successfully represented us dirty-old-men without sounding lecherous. I am taking notes, sir. If you can graft Miss Dobson's curls onto Miss Honeythorn's eyes and then combine them with Miss Navane's "I tripped, really." you could pretty much achieve male world domination. Please do it before one of the ladies figures it out or there will be hell to pay.

He's still quite active on X Marks the Scot, so it really appears to be a conscious decision on his part. A shame, really, he was one of the best personages on this forum.

It's my Brother-In-Laws B'day party at a local pub, but with the amount of beer that was flowing it could be construed as a beer festival

Ok, get ready for picblitz. European travels! Giant steam engine in the Museum van de speelkart (playing card museum) in Turnhout, Belgium. It used to run the whole factory. And the coolest part? It still works (thought not on steam anymore sadly.) They fired it up for us when we were there, hence my giddy grin. I look awful, but it looks awesome. This is in Amsterdam, in a park, with my friend Celeste. This one's at samois sur seine, we were there for a big Django Reinhardt gypsy jazz festival. My mouth is orange from the slushy I was drinking. I also posted a couple pics from the mini-meet with Mr. Oliver Lane in London to the dress-up thread here: http://www.brassgoggles.co.uk/bg-forum/index.php?topic=104.5070

Ah! Therein lies the difference, as a happily married father of two I have no intention to follow through. Therefore it is merely flirtation and not "hitting on". Great trip photos by the way. I'm very jealous of your trip. That steam engine is AWESOME. DB

Cute when you do it? Heck, it is pretty darn close to a universal law that anything done by a girl that is said to be cute by a majority of men is in and of itself, cute
