Nice outfit Brasshooter but the colors look too redish-brown, is this an artifact of the photograph?

I managed to get my cane today so decided to do a little shoot. My wretched hat kept falling over my eyes but apart from that I rather like these shots.

I don't know what it was but it went thataway

Its reached a level of completion, but 100% happy with it as it could be better. Planning to revisit it sometime this summer and add/change some things. Maybe add a wrist mounted extinguisher/hose attachment etc.

I think the outfit looks great, Roseoak!

But, if I was to be brutal, I'd say the leather cap doesn't really go- I think a better fit would be a short topper, maybe a Deadman:

But I'd lose the feather, and I'd put a chain round the band, possibly trailing down the back.

So the Deadman hat was actually named that after the hat Depp is wearing in the movie Deadman?
Looks like the John Bull has a new name.
I love that film!

So now I know that my hat is called a Deadman, instead of "kind of a tophat".

...I'm so not complaining XD I love that film!

I've heard a hat like that referred to as 'Gambler' as well, but perhaps it's subtly different....

Thank you m'dears.

I agree about the hat. I do need to get a top but my head is quite small so pretty much every one I've tried has fallen down to my nose. I cause hilarity at the antiques market every week trying on the hat mans new stock.
I may end up getting a costume one and covering it.

Its a bit like my search for a pony side saddle.

These are obviously not of me... this is my daughter (now a teen) back when she was 3.  I used to dress her like this all the time... this wasn't Easter or anything!  (She's a little mortified about this now because she's not really into this look =D  haha.)

@Sir Robert that is a product of lighting the lighting.

I'm the one in the center. unfortunately Disneyland is somewhat adverse to people wearing weaponry so it looks a lot less steamy then usual.

Do you know what size you would be needing (or just the measure around your head) ?  You can usually get the very small ones for a good price - and hardly any competition on eBay !

Thank you  Smiley  I've been looking at it for ages and managed to get the seller down to a reasonable price yesterday.
I'm aiming to get it down to my thighs. When my hair is straight it comes down to the bottom of my back currently but it has a tendency to swirl.

Solo these are adorable pics. My mother used to do that with me

If you let me know roughly what size Topper you are looking for, I will have a look in the shops up here for you.  I got mine at "Starry Starry Night" in Glasgow for £20 !
