It was the voice I didn't like - querulous and reedy like a tetchy science master
I used to have an infamous Tom Baker era outtake of some very choice words being addressed to the metal dog Any chance you could find it again? That sounds fantastic.

After it was mentioned previously I tried to see what I could find on YouTube and found these blooper clips from Tom Baker's episodes. It only has one brief part of him being snippy with K9, so I'm not sure if it's the same video neon_suntan is talking about or not ...
It does have a scene with the Doctor, Romana, and K9 having drinks on the tardis and K9 singing though.

So, were the companions Ian, Steven, Ben, Jamie, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewert, Mike Yates, John Benton, Harry Sullivan, Adric, Turlough, Micky and captian Jack Harkness and Micky Smith all there for the mum's, or have the producer's of Doctor Who always known something about at least part of the audience? Well, yeah. It's always had a strong queer following, and they totally knew it. Harry was a bit of alright. They were more obvious about it with Cptn Jack, but fan-service is common enough in Classic Who. So the girl companions were for the lesbian following then? It's the only logical explanation. Sorry to throw a monkey wrench (or a monkey wench, if one prefers) intothe works, buuut... What about Tom Baker's relationship offscreen with one of the "Romana" actresses? which following was that for?

This and 'Terror Of The Autons' were, and are, my favourite all-time Who stories. And the creepiest.

Probably not I am afraid. Most Hotels will not have BBC 3 based on my personal experience and in organising Eastercons.

The Last Travelodge I stayed in had BBC3. But I don't know if that was a one-off or a normal thing.

The funny thing is, the reason for my travel to the UK is the NBTVA-convention in Loughborrough ( www.nbtv.org), so I will have at least one televisor in my boot, in Baird-standard with 30 lines or NBTV-standard with 32 lines. It would be no problem to take a down-converter and a DVB-T receiver (I think the continental standard is compatible with Freeview) with me and whatch Doctor Who and Doctor Who confidential on my televisor - in black and white, with 30 lines!

... which, I do believe, introduced Turlough. Always nice to see a companion trying to do away with the Doctor rather than just simpering at him...
