Yes I do recall that now - I suppose that was the reference from earlier. I understand the RTD need to over egg the continuity custard, but has anyone provided the background to the signature tune having the same rythym as a timelords heart? I haven't read all the Dr Who threads yet (haven't found them all yet!) and the sig tune goes right back to the first broadcast doesn't it? Well before RDT's time at the word processor.

The signature tune does, RTD retrofitted it, to fit his story.

So, were the companions Ian, Steven, Ben, Jamie, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewert, Mike Yates, John Benton, Harry Sullivan, Adric, Turlough, Micky and captian Jack Harkness and Micky Smith all there for the mum's, or have the producer's of Doctor Who always known something about at least part of the audience? Well, yeah. It's always had a strong queer following, and they totally knew it. Harry was a bit of alright. They were more obvious about it with Cptn Jack, but fan-service is common enough in Classic Who. So the girl companions were for the lesbian following then?

Yesterday I saw "the Leisure Hive" with Tom Baker. And it reminded me, that Romana (II) is still my favourite companion.

And it reminded me, that Romana (II) is still my favourite companion. I've always liked Romana too. It's always confused me as to why she doesn't have her own TARDIS though, being a Time Lady and all. I think my all time favorite companions will always be Sarah Jane Smith and K9 though.

Who might that be? A Dalek-sodomist? Or just a steampunk?

Yeah, the 1996 version of the console room looks pretty darn good too. Too bad it didn't get used more.

Quite a feat actually. K-9 has a habit of getting destroyed though. Apparently someone got wise on K-9's Scrappy status and put him (or them) out of the game in various ways, which might (or might not) be a good thing.

I think K-9 is a bit annoying; hes one of those things you like when your younger and then gets annoying and dont get me started on Ja - Ja I think K-9 kept getting destroyed because he was apparently a pain in the arse to use for filming; kept breaking down etc

The Scutters from Red Dwarf were great - they never spoke! The Daleks are great, too, they don't speak too much and they never try being smart-alecky.
