Hi There,
I am Tamala... I am also located in Wellington, FL... I went there to buy some stuff and that day was Saturday. I bought some antique brass locks and ring... It was Wellington’s very first ever Steampunk Convention, Aethercon 2012. What a great day! I enjoyed there... thanks! for reminding me wonderful day.

So do come over to visit the Steampunk stand and meet them.

As much as I like cracked.com, they're either wrong or severely short-sighted on every point they bring up in the article. I'd elaborate, but I'm pretty sure I'd be breaking forum rules..

Dental surgery yday. Or rather, the aftereffects of one. No pain, I have pretty high tolerance; the annoying part is that the stitches they put in itch like crazy!  Angry  And I'm not having them taken out until Wed.  Angry

To an extent, you can avoid this by making your medals as over-the-top and flamboyant as possible.  If they don't look like true military medals it's less likely to offend - some of the order medals are very large.

Does a medal need a ribbon? - could your medals have feathers and/or brass chain?
Are you trying to do something with a medal that would be better done with a patch?
Avoid valour medals and look to alternatives (membership/fellowship of orders, companies and societies)
