Better to be a dead Airship Pyrate than to exist in mediocrity!!

Some additional details quoted from our facebook page.

"Ladies and Gentlemen,

Further to our announcement earlier, I can now confirm some further details!

Regarding music, we are now confirmed to be welcoming Edward and the Itch to the stage during the evening, plus possible others - isn't it exciting to have so many emerging details to look forward to?

We have also received a few questions regarding guests of younger ages and sprightlier steps. We have no intention of excluding Glasgow's more stylish young citizens and people under 18 will be welcome up to 10pm and should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Doors open 7:30pm.

That's all for now!

More information about acts performing and booking details :

"Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm delighted to bring you a couple more updates about our event next month.

First, whilst we've been calling it a 'ball' for quite a while, our event description makes no mention of ballroom music or formal dancing. This is because, as we are a fairly relaxed collective who like to bring fun to all regardless of their waltzing abilities and will be playing music rather different to the traditional ball fare, it's not really a 'ball' as such, more a 'party', a 'get-together' an 'excuse to don fancy clothes and have a jolly old knees-up'. With that in mind, we have changed the name to the Summer Soiree. For accuracy, and science! (Possibly not the latter.)

Furthermore, it is with great pleasure that I announce the return of the Sarasvati Tribal Belly-Dancers into our midst for the evening, to further delight you all with their wonderful costumes and mesmerizing performances!

Please remember to spread the word and mark a space in your calendars! Remember, it's £3 for members of GUESS and Dreams of Steam and £5 for all other attendees. Advanced tickets can be purchased from our Quartermaster Nina Jones, who can be contacted either via the our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=242611740444&v=info&ref=ts , then find her name on the left) or by the society e-mail (gu.steampunk@yahoo.co.uk).

We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Hoping to meet loads of new faces from around and about the central belt. I cannot decide whether to wear my lovely uniform tailcoat outfit or the swanky new one I made to go to the Royal Garden Party this week in.

So it's every hand to his rope or gun, quick's the word and sharp's the action. After all... Surprise is on our side.

Wear the uniform tailcoat and save the new one for the Royal Garden Party.  After all, Her Majesty should see you in your newest and finest finery.  I too hope to see as many people at the Soiree as possible.

I am also working, with other members of G.U.E.S.S., to webcast it to the four corners of The Aethernet Empire !

I've already been to the palace - garden party was on Tuesday -and wore my finest finery and massive hat to keep the sun off. Not HM but HRH. HM was in the US addressing the UN. Fab grub. Lots of ladies in their poshest gear had taken their shoes off to walk barefoot on HM's lawn!!
