A handful of us are making plans to get together in Birmingham next week (sorry about short notice), the Old Contemptable has been suggested and Monday looking likely. Primarily the intention is to make shared travel arrangements for the Kew gardens meet in August. However, it will involve beer and a lot of talk of steamy interest, I suspect. Would you care to join us?

Regards,

Mary.

Unlikely, The Notts/East Mids train gets into St Pancras and the Brum/West Mids train gets into Paddington. However, there is talk of staying over one night and browsing London the next day- so if you can recommend any decent (inexpensive) hotels or a good (& user-friendly) tourist link that's be a great help.

Oh, damn didn't realise that.
I only really know about hostels, The backpackers hostel at picadilly is very central and cheap. they have rooms of four and six so you wouldn't have to share with randoms.

I didn't realise you resided up Noten'ham way, I spent my formative years there. (Hell, I even worked at Ye Olde Trippe to Jerusalem a while.)

I was wondering if anyone would ever suggest an East Mids steam-knees-up and if so would nominate Woolaton Park as the venue. Beautiful House & gardens, and the Industrial museum thrown in!

Located this article on it, it certainly looks intriging:

See you there, 7.30 for 8.00.
