Ladies and Gentlemen of the Steampunk Forum, allow one proud antipodean to present you with...

<a href="http://www.jaspermorello.com/gazette/?page_id=25&currentSelection=7"><em>The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello.</em></a>
(trailer)
<img src="http://www.madman.com.au/images/slicks/bigones/mma2384wp.jpg" />

This Australian short film was made using a mixture of CG, shadow puppetry, and traditional animation techniques, and is frankly, a masterwork.

Available for purchase <a href="http://www.madman.com.au/actions/catalogue.do?releaseId=6023&method=view">here</a>.
The film is 25 minutes long, and the extra features are 45mins.

Ah, but they do, my dear, as I just found out. For those who use the iTunes Music Store, this film is available for a mere $1.99 US! You can find it by simple search, or look under Movies --> Short Films.

*is happy now*

Seriously? Hm, does one *require* an iPod to view the iTunes downloads?

Not at all. You can watch them on your computer. The files are very good quality. (And at 294 MB, I'd hope so!)

Very glad to have introduced you good folk to it.

The world is wonderful, if slightly Nautically based.
Their website is pretty cool too, aint it?

I finally got around to watching this today. Vice nice film. The story itself is entertaining, if a little cliché and predictable, but the audio and visuals more than make up for it.

Any other Novacastrians here? Be surprised if anyone else here has heard the term steampunk but worth a shot.

The short was brilliant.  I saw it a bit back and couldn’t stop recommending it to everyone.  Would love to work on something similar to that myself, .  The hard part is a good short story.

I 've got it. It's pretty entertaining - apparently two more are being made.

If you're outside of region 4 and don't have a multi-region dvd player, download VLC Media Player. This lets you watch dvds from any region without locking in your dvd drive. It's free and open source too.

Hello all. Try searching on Amazon.com. There is a DVD called " A Collection of 2005 Academy Award Nominated Short Films", and The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello is on there .

The wife got it for me for my birthday, it came in just in time!
