Cheesy

I´m in Hamburg - not exactly in your neighborhood so to speak. The Gentleman closest to me (geographically speaking) would be Toji chiba in Kassel, and then elShogotho in Berlin.
Speeking of a meet-up, did you know that elShoggotho gave an open invitation to all Steampunks on this board to come by for his birthday-party on June 21st? So, I think, this would be the first german brassgoggle-event, maybe you care to join!? And the good news is, there are also guys from Ireland coming, so we have to speak english all the time... Grin
I am really looking forward to this and am working to get my outfit finished.

If you read this rather long and convoluted statement (and it is worthwhile, believe me) in the end you will find out (apart from the realization that I like overly long sentences but am severely limited by the maximal amount of characters allowed on signatures) that you have just lost
The Game.

...and yes, it is a Prussian conspiracy to take over the Ætherweb and then the world! Heute die Welt, morgen das Sonnensystem! Grin

The solar-system? You Prussians have always been megalomaniacs! Or are you already building an imperial flet of aetherships up there, Mr. Shoggotho? I never quite understood what's going on under those Pickelhauben of yours. Wink

Then you need another lesson - or a prolonged vacation in Germany. Get over here, our beer is inexpensive and great!

I informally rechristened the ZEP-01 SMLS Prinzregent Luitpold... just to show my true allegiance.

I hear the Prussians are building an alliance with those Klingon-creatures that live on Mars, which will help them take over the solar system.

Ah, but you see, as a Franconian I can't like the Bavarian invaders either!

As a Franconian, you might appreciate that I'm adept at beating the Bavarians at their own game - getting horribly pissed with Hefeweizen. It's the second best, just after Czech lager.

Mr. Atterton, I won´t tell any of the other users that your german isn´t perfect - what do you think if we say it was just a code, for you getting orders from these prussian wannabe-dominators...?  Wink

A perfect code. Unbreakable, even with the cipher. Unfortunately it's pretty useless that way. Wink

But there's beauty in uselessness.

EDIT: and Mr. Dawson, could you do me a favour and change the "archeologist" in your title to "archaeologist"?
This is not meant as a disrespect towards our American members or their language, it's only that that being a word I read alot this form just seems wrong to me somehow.

I tend to make useful things beautiful... but ah, the goggles, they do nothing...

Look over in the goggles thread, I'll post my newest creation.

But now it seems wrong to me...  Undecided Wink

But not a big deal, with `ae` it looks pretty cool, although unfamiliar.... like this was an Mirror-Universe version of me...  Grin

Thank you Mr. Dawson. And Mr. Shoggotho: duly noted and admired. Although they do seem to do something. Namely provide light.

They might be useful for the night and for lightweight tinkering, but I won't trust them to protect my eyes.

Not even with a Dremel. I don't like rock sand in the eyes, so I use my standard goggles.

*Gently steers the thread back on topic by pointing at the flag under my avatar* I just moved to Kufstein/Austria. But since it's about 3km behind the German/Austrian Border, I'm still all in for meetings/fun in Germany.  Grin
