You know we should have a get-together for the MN group, yes I do know CONvergence is coming up but not everyone might make that, so anyone interested in a meet and greet at some point in the future?

There is actually a meet up tomorrow night (March 10th) for the Steam Century Kaposia group at the Wilde Roast Cafe at 7pm. They are planning on spending some time discussing how their event at MarsCon went this past Saturday (Steam Century's season opener!) but everyone is welcome and knowing how most Steam Century meetings go, the subject will be wild ranging among all things steampunk.

More on the event here

And here is the Wilde Roast Cafe website: http://www.wilderoastcafe.com/index.php

Darn it! I'm stuck at work all night. Would love to meet some other Steampunks in the area.
Yes, I think it would be a great idea to have a Time Traveler's day out at the MN Ren fest this year.

If I make it to Convergence I'll probably be there in my TIE Pilot costume. Don't know if that will happen as it is hard to get time off of work during that time  Cry

Southwest Iowa represent! *laughs* In all seriousness though, I do hail from the midwest, and my closest major cities are Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska. Both are about an hour's drive from me, so weekend meet-ups aren't terribly unreasonable, for the most part.

from St Louis, Mo.
I'm newer to steampunk, but loving all the options of stuff to make.

There is an upcoming "Steamposium" near St. Louis, MO.  I first heard of this at VisionCon back in January and found this thread elsewhere on this forum:  http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,20621.0.html

Since I'm local, I really want to go  Smiley  Anyone else interested?

The Steamposium will be in January for 2011. http://rose-society.org/index.html] http://rose-society.org/index.html   or the facebook group http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/group.php?gid=68565182528

Small-town Western Illinois, checking in! Haha I can't really say small-"town," though, since we've only got 600 people.

But hey, "small-village" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

In the summer, I have you both beat- 80 people in the community, but only 27 in the nearest 'populated city,'

Seattle, WA for the majority of the year. (Still haven't connected with the Steamrats. I should do that.)

Alton, Illinois here.  Right near St. Louis.  And I'm so glad I found this thread with its mention of a St. Louis get together in January.
