At .68 cal you can use it as a non-lethal home defense weapon, just substitute paintballs for pepperballs (.68 paintballs filled with PAVA, ie, capsaicin) which explode on impact engulfing the target with hot pepper powder. They are a bit pricey at the manufacturing site ( http://www.pepperball.com/pdf/PTILEPROJQ205.pdf ) but can be bought from other sellers on Ebay who make them for much less. There are no restricted sales in the USA except for those few communities which do not allow the purchase of mace/pepper spray/etc. From personal experience I can tell you they work as advertised in closed environments, but less effectively in the open air. markf The hand held one looks quite cool. Brass it, and mount one of those "burn your face off" lasers http://www.fastcompany.com/1662279/lasers-blue-handheld-spyder-iii-retina-damage-science-airportsin it and you have a one stop home defence system (maybe slap a tazer on it too just for good measure). Combo-non-lethal it's the way forward.

Well, I've just about finished my second gun mod. Unnamed as of yet (suggestions welcome!), it started life as this: And ended up like this: With a few more pictures of WIP and finished article here. Sorry if it's a bit lacking in execution or imagination, it's a rush job for someone's Birthday (which I've already missed )

Cheapo sound and light 'space gun', with a a fast paint job for The Asylum weekend. Other stuff will be done to it when time allows! Only when I finished did I realise the bright pink 'spinner thing' inside, doh! From this: To this:

Currently working on a rifle, it's still in bits but I am going to install some electronics and vacuum-tube type arrangements as well as a projector of some kind protruding from the trumpet-like muzzle. The stock is from an old air rifle. The bits I've already got: The main barrel as the parts will be arranged: The two blocks either side of the electric motor rotor will be joined by rods, although they will be much shorter when finished: Wish me luck, because there are some quite difficult bits to do now...

From this: To this: I've seen one of these kicking about, it has the same motor and light/sound electronics in it that the Monsters Vs Aliens ray guns have... one of which I brutally tore apart to make a spinning gizmo a few months back and still haven't recycled the rest of the gun... must do that!

It always saddens me when attending various conventions to see some of the most incredible gun designs out there... but with law enforced orange ends on them to show they're not real. Of course, not everyone does this - but some some conventions are very strict indeed... it's good to know, but at the same time... a victorian elephant gun does look rather silly with a bright orange end on it!!! .S.S. But it is quite useful in my other line of work: free-lance removal of inconvenient individuals...
You see, there is NO law whatsoever (at least in any of the places where I fulfill my contractual agreements) against placing a bright orange tip - and even the word "Nerf" in bright, bold letters... on a real, functional firearm.
So, if one dresses up a bit oddly, and carries said firearm in casual, even silly fashion, it is possible to stroll blithely through the park until the target is located and... removed. Since everyone will have noticed the clown wig and oversized spectacles, once they are dumped along with said firearm into a nearby receptacle, it is quite possible to depart the area in casual fashion. Scot-free, as it were.
Cheers!
Chas.

I was practicing with my airsoft Thompson SMG in the backyard, shooting a cowbell target from the hip, one-handed, when approached by one of our local police officers. Hand on sidearm he asked me to cease fire and put the weapon down. I complied, smiling, and invited him over to check it out. Soon the cop was plinking away with a cheesy grin on his mug. "I gotta get one of these." was his statement. He left a friend and will soon be going to an airsoft game with me and my friends.

This came in the mail today: Kampfpistole: Shown with a 27 mm. shell and a 12 gauge shotgun shell (the black one). The 12 gauge is there for size comparison: And with Zippo lighter for those who are unfamiliar with the size of a shotgun shell: In open position, with shells: The other side. With German WWII markings: This is the airsoft version made by CAW. The real one was based on the "Leuchtpistole" (flare gun). The main difference was that the kampfpistole had a rifled barrel, and was designed to fire a variety of rounds. Mostly HE (high explosive). Now I just need to find/make a holster for it. Wood grips would be nice too

Damn sexy beast, that thing.. I like the new trend in airsoft, leaning towards WWII weaponry. There's a ton of excellent stuff being made these days. I especially like the airsoft version of the Russian PPSh-41..

I completely agree. At the moment I am trying to decide if I can justify spending a minor boatload of money, on a M1919 (Browning .30 cal MG)

The 12 gauge is there for size comparison: Wow, this would make a great base for Hellboy's gun the samaritan from the comics. It's a big arse single shot pistol...Great...I feel that familiar itch...now I need to make one. DAMN YOU!!!!
