Hello Everyone,

I can heartily recommend the four books written by William J Palmer

. The Detective and Mr. Dickens (1990)
2. The Highwayman and Mr. Dickens: An Account of the Strange Events of the Medusa Murders (1992)
3. The Hoydens and Mr. Dickens: The Strange Affair of the Feminist Phantom (1997)
4. The Dons and Mr. Dickens: The Strange Case of the Oxford Christmas Plot (2000)

Dr. Palmer is a professor at Purdue University and brings a historians detail to the novels thereby making the mystery's presented that much more believable.

Respectfully

Has anyone ever done a steampunk story in the Dickens mold? With orphans, charming servant girls and evil people with hyphens in their name?

I must pick up these books at some point, as I intend, in the dim and distant future, to write a fictional novel on the murder of Charles Dickens.
