Although my postcount is probably far too low for anyone to notice the recent decline in flow of posts but Second Life is to blame, though I have attempted it before I had little success on my old computer but it seems my current system manages it just fine. Its been just over a week and I'm hooked. I go by Zaltman Romanas and am currently spending my time exploring and attending classes at Oxbridge. Feel free to send me an IM I can use all the help I can get!

Still looking for a good-looking set of goggles that aren't going to cost me a fortune...

I've been in SL for over 4 years now =)

If anyone needs ANYTHING give me a yell. I probably have it in inventory.

Used to own over a million meters of mainland in rentals until LL "chewed the pooch" on land last year. Now (as of last months tier date lol) I'm down to the little 512 I get for membership. It's in Zindra and I make avatars and Alien Labratory Equipment. I do have a cool Steampunk avatar if anyone wants one IM me and I'll drop you a copy!

I have some others but I mostly do full region and estate builds. I have a little prefab shop too, Artorius Constantine there

My Favorite Avatar, (I didn't make this one)

I have an avatar in SL, and I go by the name Aimlia Irelund.  I hang around in a steampunk sim called Steelhead, and I share a space over in Boomtown.  I only go into SL about once a week or so, since I am way too busy in RL, but if you catch me in there please feel free to say hello.  I would love to meet more folks in there.

I came across this on the Destination Guide on the SL website and thought it might help people discover Steampunk in SL.

It certainly showed me a couple of places I didn't know about!

I play SL as Rowan Xenga, and my character is a clockwork doll who lost her owner in an as yet undisclosed  accident. My backstory goes that I was created as a companion, but after my owner/creator died, I had to hide among humans pretending to be one, working as a dancer to earn enough lindens to survive. Just today, I was hired by/welcomed to the decidedly clockwork family of a doll maker/mad scientist (nothing is simple on SL *laugh*) whose first name is Trixter (I won't say his last for privacy reasons). The place I work is called the Dolly Box Club, and it's easy to search up.

I also hang out in Winterfell Anodyne sometimes, just wandering, because its so pretty as well as steampunk.

I see no reason to start a new topic on this, and so must be the evil threadomancer once again bwahahaaar!

Hello! I've just joined Second Life. Cheesy

A little late to the party to be sure, but still I've finally got to see the legendary New Babbage at last. It is splendidly Halloweeny at present I must say. I'm using the same name I use on here, so If you see me flying around looking lost don't worry about it, I'm just getting the lay of the land as it were.

I have seen a few folks in my travels, but I actually hadn't had a convo until today so I've kind of deliberately avoided socialising as I wasn't too sure how to. I'm still very much sussing it out, and unfortunately that seems to be something you have to perfect in world, but I'll get there.

Anyway I just wanted to say hi to any of you that may still be around, and give huge props to the New Babbage designers, it really is rather wonderful. I've yet to experience Caledon but that will certainly be next on the list. At present however I'm still figuring out how to make thousands of L$ for all the shiny things I'm already lusting after.  Cheesy

Rise from your grave, ancient ancestral thread!

I was just browsing for Second Life content in a fit of sudden nostalgia. I used to run the Gaslights Emporium in Port Babbage as Vincente Shepherd - and although I appreciate many of the posters in this thread may not even still read Brass Goggles, I must say that it warms my heart to see so many old and familiar names here. Were I not a busy and responsible adult, I could have been tempted to play again, even! Does anybody still get around the steampunk haunts of SL, or is it thoroughly deceased now?

I'm still there (since 2006), though I confess I don't get to Port Babbage that often We do have fairly frequent Steampunk themed nights at the dance club where I work. On Saturday as a matter of fact we're having a Mechanical Dolls night.

I'm in SL, Eirik Aura is the name, and my wife's a DJ there (DJ Dracona, the Sultry DJ). If anyone is having problems still with the viewers, try Singularity - I had huge problems with the more common viewers but that one works a treat and can view mesh too.

I also use SecondLife as of pretty recently, now that I'm on a PC that can support it without frying itself. Username is exohead (I have an old account. Like 2 or 3 years old, I think... ONly recently picked it back up). Feel free to look me up. I'd be interested in seeing some of these steampunk areas.

I love to play Second Life. Although my main account is named "Maxwell Grantly," I also have an alternate account called "RiverFalcon Resident" that I use for steampunk exploration. My favourite steampunk sim is New Babbage.

This is a video that I created for my steampunk character.

My account on Second-Life is under the name Sephiroth Reiner

(went through a Final Fantasty 7 moment when i was signing up)

The name i mostly get called on Second-Life is tobias reyener which is my Display name, and i tend to do alot of British themed roleplays in many sims, i run a Anime girls tank school based on girls und panzer and run St.gloriana girls academy and use british tanks and rules etc, and also rp as a privateer for the royal navy in pirates destiny sim and also have recently join some steampunk groups a few days ago, i find new babbage laggy as hell even with my semi-high-spec PC which can run Battlefield 3 on ultra but can't allow SL to run smoothly which puzzles me!. add me any of you that wish to meet me on SL!
