Rather than worrying what it is or it isn't, how it does or doesn't fit with something else or how other things might or might not be classified with it, lets just kick back in our fancy chairs and enjoy it for what it is.

The obligatory Wikipedia entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retro-futurism

I like this blog (Brass Goggle's retro-futurustic evil twin?):
http://paleo-future.blogspot.com/index.html

and glancing down the opening page I was especially struck by these pictures of a planned future Moscow:
http://paleo-future.blogspot.com/2007/03/unrealized-moscow-1930s-to-1950s.html

More of those pictures here:

Emps

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

It is like some strange alternative reality cousin of Brass Goggles, heh.

Cousin I prefer, over evil twin.  *chuckles*  Looks good though, I salute their efforts and encourage their progress!

A mad cousin that one would keep locked in the attic in case it embarrasses you amongst company?  Shocked

OK I'll go with kindred spirit then. One with a wistful eye on an impossible future rather than a longing for a past that never was. Wink
