-HC means,hearty chuckle-

Seeking advice,ideas,comments,thoughts.

This idea popped up due to a mostly full jar of brass paint that possesses me to paint random things.I figured I may as well do something interesting.

As a basis;I have a silver nano(the original sort, not the new little square touch screen thing). As I generally do,i thought to incorporate clockwork in some manner.

Jake von Statt's Salt Water iPod etch is a good source of inspiration -

I've been experimenting with ways to make my own Nano more cumbersome. I've found some nice tins to use as casings and I want to try and convert the clicker wheel into some kind of working brass cog control - the trick is finding materials that work well with the clicker. I'll keep you posted  Smiley

Good Day,

Might I offer another suggestion. Rather than gears that a silver case with appropriate scrollwork might be in order. A cartouche to put your initials on would be rather handsome as well. Of course you would want the silver properly hallmarked.

Scour around on Ebay and in the antique shops for a silver match case (just small enough for those really tiny ipod clip things) or a cigarrette case in the appropriate size. Smiley

I began making a case for my Nano, but a broken clickwheel stalled the project. It seems such a waste to leave it as it is, if I dig up some pictures and you like what you see, I could probably finish up as best I could and send it on to you.
