I prefer be king in hell than slave in heaven, but being king in heaven would be much, much, better.
He sent a messenger to the other bride, and asked her to return to her own kingdom, for, as he informed her, he already had a wife, and someone who had found an old key did not need a new one. -The Twelve Huntsmen, Brother Grimms.

Can't say I see it myself. Although it does look like they bought them at the same store as the Russian army.

Gunaydin, arkadashlarim!
These all have the same mid-to-late 20th century look - and late enough to bypass even a smattering of diesel as well.

I've always liked the look of the Japanese schoolboy uniforms, very clean lines.

Yea, as a military buff, I've gotta say they just look like 50s communist uniforms. However, if you want steamy modern uniforms, ceck out Sweden's Royal Guard, Italian Bersegliari, British Guards, and French Gendarmes

For steamy Asian uniforms, check out Japanese schoolboy uniforms: Heh, I have a uniform just like that. With two sets of buttons; one silver set and one brass set.. Remnants of my time in Japan.

Dear geraldduval,
I like the Swedish Royal Guard (snazzy colour and pointy hat) and the French gendarmes (lots of gold braid and a funky-looking hat).

If you can get past the "face fuzz", there are a number of turn-of-the-century military uniforms on this page, worn by the participants at the last International beard & Moustache competition. http://www.handlebarclub.co.uk/wbmcwinners.shtmlI believe the blue uniforms are the old Austro-Hungarian Empire uniforms (Someone who is a better historian than I might want to double-check).

I always get wieded out when i see the legion March...they're so damned slow! i know its tradition, but damn they're slow.
That being said, their pioneers are straight up badass with the full beards, axes and aprons.

Am I the only person who laughed at this video? It is so obvious that the Precision movements in the first 30 seconds or so are done with CG !!! I Thought that there were enough people in china that it would actually be cheaper to use real people!!!!! Hilarious !!!
Okay I'm probably going against the general thread a bit but there are a few design cues in the dress uniforms that are distinctly British of course The Brits did control Hong Kong for a very long time!
