I'm not sure what you're looking at either.  The link appears to lead to some pictures of hummingbirds...

BibliOdyssey is one of the best blogs on the Internet.

They basically scan in pages from old illustrated books and the results are almost always breathtaking. A must for anyone interested in wonderous old books and there is always something for the hardcore Steampunk too. Like this:

Be careful though. You could lose days once yo start browsing!!  Shocked

kinda nice.

For those who were struggling (as I was) it is the second picture down here:

http://bibliodyssey.blogspot.com/2007/03/signs-of-something.html

It is by Eric Ailcane:

www.ericailcane.org

Who seems to add little mechancial/clockwork bits to his sketches of animals:

http://www.ericailcane.org/images/debacle/1.jpg

Which can get pretty weird:

http://www.ericailcane.org/images/debacle/6.jpg

As to what it is... I don't really have a good answer. Artistic whimsy?

I don't know what it is but I do like his work. Good find Smiley

Did anyone make it as far as this post:
http://bibliodyssey.blogspot.com/2007/03/flight-to-antipodes.html

To early for steampunk, but pretty cool nonetheless.

What a fantastic resource! I simultaneously eagerly await and deeply fear spending more time and computrons than I can afford with it.
