Fantastic! I bought five of those for cheap a while back, and I've been looking for a reason to use them. Thanks for putting me onto the idea.

My pleasure! Latest addition: filler caps on the two side tanks: Just waiting on some wing-nuts to make the clamps that hold them shut.

i remain impressed with you work Herr Doktor. I had a similar idea but your execution is much better than mine would ever have been. do you have any interest in sharing your brain with me so i can make well crafted prop weapons? No? ok. just thought I'd ask.

UPDATE: Couldn't wait for the wingnuts, so made some instead- brass machine screws, with soldered on washers to enlarge them, and soldered on clockwork key style 'wings', tapped brass tube to screw into:

Hmm... it's been what, sixteen months? Time for an update! A lick of primer and some polishing: Detail added to the top, and the beginnings of a pressure gauge: There's been a lot of tweaking of small, niggling problems, and more thought applied; next up is some turn wheels for the two small regulator valves in front of the gauge, and it really needs a magazine for the projectiles, in between the tanks in the middle, not sure whether it's a top mag or a bottom mag (insert innuendo here).

16 months since you started this?? about how long do you normally take with a project of this size? It is a wonderful piece of work and very inspiring, your level of detail is neat. Your well above the look of most costume artifacts I have seen. It seems to me to be much harder to reuse items into art like this than most of the nerf repaints, although people do some really nice work with them too. You are to be commended.
thanks for sharing.

Some of us need more time than others. One needs to study and evaluate. Some things just need the temporal touch. I personally have been working on my Rubik's Cube off and on since 1985. I will eventually find the answer. Or Bury the blasphemous heathen creation of evil in the back garden john

a half moon mag, attached like a bren gun mag. it has an arm with a pivot centered so it swings thru the arc of the mag, helping the projectiles advance. the arm can double as an ammo counter too. maybe have the latch lock the front of the mag to the gun.

Ooh, it's back! Also, Herr Doktor makes his own wingnuts just because the real ones are taking a while? Man, that is so hardcore. I'm jealous. Lucius Voltaic

I've done some pictures with various configurations of magazine: fantastic! lovely shape old chap. I have a gorgeous "ray gun" which fires smoke rings , I'm hoping to punk it up for the asylum weekend rayguns at dawn? Well, I'd prefer a nice champagne breakfast, preferably around ten o'clock, and anyway, what's Dawn ever done to us?
