I've started a new project.
My wife showed me the other day a video about fairy houses made from plastic bottles and aluminium foil.
So today I started this build. I've hotglued the bottles and aluminium foil together. Next up, covering it with clay.
Eventually it will have a few of those fake little candles inside.

A little update:

I've sculpted some clay around one of the bottles.
Note to anyone who wants to make a fairy house like this: get plenty of clay! There is approximatly 1 kg in just this part I've done.
I guess it's probably going to take about 4-5 kg of clay for this build.
I have also used about half a roll of aluminium foil and a dozen sticks of hot glue.
The crusial part is to glue everything nice and secure together before adding clay.

Beautiful work, bicyclebuilder!
I was in Ireland recently, in a little place called Templemore in Co. Tipperary - they have built, oops, helped the fairies build some homes in the Fairy Walk, along with a big mushroom Fairy Circle, in the town park!
Lovely!

My youngest has given this her highest seal of approval - "That's cool!" was her comment.

Thank you both for the replies, Miranda and Banfili.
I just Googled the Fairy Walk you mentioned, Banfili. It looks magically!

A little update. The first part of the house is finished! Added the two big mushrooms at the top.

This is so pretty.  Are you going to put lights in it too?

Thank you all.
I am going to put lights in it!  Grin
I was going for those fake tea lights, but I have some 3xAA battery powered Christmas lights I can use.
It all depends on how much light I find needed.

But first I have to finish the modeling and next painting it.

How about re-wiring a few solar yard lights?
Extend the wiring so that the solar mini panels are a bit away from the houses so they don't distract.

solar lights are maybe for a next project.

A small update:

A note to anyone who wants to make this to: Make sure you glue all bottles tight! Better to have a blob of glue then a loose part.
I've learned that the hard way. The little toadstool on the side came off. Had to remove some of the clay and re-glue the part back.

Finished with the clay! Now it's time to let it dry and then paint.

I wonder...

Been toyiing with the idea of Fairy doors and such for the little kids in the neighborhood to see from the sidewalk and wonder about (we have a very old and gnarly oak in the front yard; there's a couple of places between roots where a tiny door would juuuussssttt fit...).

These look marvellous!
Somehow I never think about what lies beneath pottery type works, but the combination of plastic bottles and foil is brilliant!
Can't wait to see how they look if you paint them!

Thank you all for the replies.
Right now, I'm letting the clay harden. It shows a few cracks but they can be covered with some clay.

Will a few cracks not add to the overall look of the sculpture?

Finished!

Next time I'm going to use more real materials like pebbles, rocks, tree bark, twigs.
Although I love this build, I would love to see more realistic details.
Probably have to add some clay to cover or a coat of black/brown paint to use as a base.
