Stuff to do in the journal...
Draw, scribble, stick things in it, mod it, take photos of you with it, show it to the cat and dog (don't feed it to them please),
jot down designs, ideas, above all have fun with it.

Stuff not to do in/with the journal...
Do not put any personal information in it such as your address, phone number or email.

Checking in/out process
When you receive the journal add an entry to this thread saying 'received journal'
When you have finished with the journal PM the person who is next in line to receive the journal for their postal address.
When you have sent the journal please add and an entry to the thread saying 'sent journal'

Please do not try not to hold on to the journal for more than a week as there are many others waiting to receive it.
If you are moving, on holiday or otherwise indisposed and next in line to receive the journal please PM me and the current holder ASAP
If you have any issues with any of the rules please PM me.
* You are expected to pay any postage costs.

Journal 1 UK Tour: Dohickey, Tinkergirl, Rosel, Mrs. Godmother, Pheobsky, Dredd Pirate Bob, Miss Groves, Sebastian Gaunt, Professor Lidenbrock, Maximum Humphries, Angel

The next leg of the journal journey will be posted once this one is completed.

*Journal 2 will launch in the U.S. shortly, having two journals will hopefully see everybody receiving one within a year.

Please do not add comments to this thread unless it is for checking in or out of the journal.

Please note that if someone asks for your address and you do not respond within 7 days your place in the list will be put to the back of the queue. The next person in the list will then be contacted.

*goes off to make my own journal.. which will be not nearly as interesting as the world travelling one.. maybe in a year it will.. lol*

Blast! I too appear to have missed the sign-up date, and I have hoped to be a part of something like this for such a long time...Considering that the two Journals already begun are in Europe and America respectively, would anybody object terribly if I were to start one here in Australia?

No objections here. In fact, perhaps it would make more sense (geographically speaking) if I were to join this journal project. Though if any other journals will head my way, I'll gladly make an entry in those as well.. Cheesy

Chaos go ahead. I have a list of those signed up in Asia area. I'll dig it out tonight and send you it.
The American journal has yet to launch, I've been real busy with real life and that takes priority.   One thing I ask is you write down the journal rules in the first pages, no placing email addresses or phone numbers in etc. And you will be in charge of tracking it. In other news the UK journal has seemed to have already become dead as Mrs Godmother is not replying to PMs! For those of you have signed up please do contact me if you can not partake fully. Hopefully the US or Australian Journal may make it to our shores. Mrs Godmother if you are reading this please get in contact with the next member.
 in the list.

You need an active e-mail address to join the forum, do you not? Perhaps Tinkergirl could be of assistance if the e-mail address is not already visible somewhere?

Are the Journals being built from scratch? I hope the disappearance of Mrs Godmother hasn't ruined it for everyone else.

Ok The UK journal is officially no more!  Embarrassed If anyone wants to start a new UK one that's fine but it will be the creators/members responsibility to monitor it.

A 'Colonies Journal' ,starting its life in Australia, may be in the off but is not yet 100% confirmed.

I have had no chance to launch the The US journal, if someone responsible in the U.S. and with enough time would like to start this one off that would be great. Again the tracking and admin of the journal will have to be the responsibility of the journal creator member. Perhaps if there is more than one volunteer then a small poll can be carried out and board members vote for who they think would be best suited for the task.

For those of you in the rest of the world the UK journal would have gone to you guys next after leaving the UK. Perhaps if another journal is created from which ever area of the globe one may one day reach your doorstep.

hmm, this does sound like an interesting little community project, would love to take part in the second attempt at the uk part of it if anyone else starts it up.

although i do have a rather nice unused notebook sitting around that might fit the bill.

Jemima Annabelle Clough:

1:Well first the person who starts it has to go find a suitable blank journal or assemble one of their own  design.
2:Get a list together of those who would like to take part (as previously done in related thread)
3:Post to first person on list following the guide lines as laid out at the start of this thread.
4: Monitor it's progress and make sure it gets sent on and not lost.
5: With the amount of folks involved on the last sign up you need to be able to commit to this project for over a year!

My most humble apologies to one and all, I am the black sheep of the board now, I think.  Sad  I was and am currently out of the country, but I have word that I have received the missing journal at home, and have arranged for the journal to be forwarded on my behalf once I have the next address to send.

Hopefully the resurrection of the UK journal does not result in vampiristic tendencies (beware when opening?)!

Once again you have my humble apologies,  I feel very silly about inadvertently leaving everyone hanging.

If it is at all possible that I participate I would love to start the US journal.

I am new to the community, but I can prove to be a most trustworthy chap.

Would that meet approval from my fellow steampunk enthusiasts?

I was hoping the same thing. Mayhaps a second gen journal project will partake in the future.

Would anyone want to start another one with me? Any of the people not currently signed up that is. You know, a bit of an outside thing. But where would the journal end up when finished is the question?
