Hey There Folks, i was doing a Little thinking when a Question Hit me:Has Anyone ever Built a Steampunk Headboard Lamp? I'm planning to Buy a Lamp, but Thought it might be Fun to Build one instead. What Would work for a Headboard Lamp/Light? I'm Planning to fasten it to the Headboard but Clamp or whatever might Work. What say You? Thanks for Looking.

Selectedgrub's lantern idea is excellent. One could easily adapt any sort of lantern to match the projected style. Myself, I would fancy a pair of early railroad lanterns - perhaps with different colored globes for the occasional mood lighting.  Cheesy

I would suggest something along the lines of the old type of sealed safety lights used on ships and in certain industrial applications, something like this:

Perhaps mounted on a scissor arm base?

And to attach it to the headboard (assuming drilling / screwing are out of the question) you could use a scaffolding "beam clamp" fitting, or a 'C' clamp or something similar.

Whatever you use, really 'go for it' and make something that's wildly fun but functional.  Wink
