Hi Ladies and gents,
I have been lurking in Chronoautomata with this for a year or two as it's slowly come together, but here finally, for your delectation and delight is my attempt at a fully working replica of the Antikythera Mechanism - an astronomical computer designed a mere 2100 years ago and rediscovered in a Roman shipwreck in 1901.
It's a lot cleverer than I am - I just need to learn how it works now...
Cheers,
Dave.

That looks jaw-droppingly complex. So is the whole enterprise made of wood including the cogs? Is it hand crafted or laser cut? Whichever, it is a thing of complex beauty.

Yours,
Miranda.

Grand work, Mechanism!
It is a complex piece, and reminds us that "The Ancients" were no less clever than their descendants!
