It's like that "vase/two faces" op art thing - one moment it's a traditional New Zealand folk art piece, and then it starts to give off a weird Tex Avery/Max Fleischer vibe. (But then, I tend to get that from a lot of Maori-style stuff.)

Either way, I like it.

I am still trying to wrap my head around these beautiful artifacts and understand how Herr Professor Doctor Grub-sama
achieves these amazing sculptures apparently via a "build-up" and "file off" process.....
