I need to finish this last wood project.
Wood dust and oil don't mix too well so it's under cover till I can have a good clean up.
I'm doing the seat at the moment but.

Not at all, I just show how to make stuff.
Apart from Jame's train thread point me to the latest threads that do this.

I always start out with the intention of showing a build, but get so carried away, that, by the time i think about it, the project is finished!
If I am absolutely honest, I suspect my attention span is short when, A) I don't have a clue what i'm looking at, and B) I'm made to feel guilty for not commenting on something every time I check in to see the progress.  Now this is by no means a reflection on what you build, it is incredible stuff, and has been a huge inspiration to me starting out, just MY shortcomings
Personally, after spending time building a piece, then taking time to post pictures and a description of the piece, I get a couple of hundred views, then just a hand full of comments, then yes, I feel the same way as you, like why did I bother?
I'm sure that, like myself, you don't do this for the adulation, but It's hard to believe that at least fifty percent of the views wouldn't take the time to comment, good or bad, so we know there's somebody out there!.
Anyway, keep it up, you are being watched, and I for one cannot wait to see the incredible motorcycle in its final state

Sometimes, that's exactly how I feel.  But then I think that what I build, I build for my own enjoyment, and likewise I share it with others that they might get some pleasure from it too.  If I were making things just to garner attention, I would have given it up as a bad job long ago, and I think every maker, crafter or doer must have this same mindset to carry on regardless of getting attention or not.

Anyway, I digress....

I like where this is going, Selected.

I spend most of my spare time making things and buying trinkits, as and when money permits, to go around the house, but the reason I don't post 'em here is I'm not really sure if Steampunk enough to warrant sharing.

I like 'em and the house is my constant project, more of a passion really, a really big WIP, going on for 10 years or so.

I may start a new thread in Tactile to test the waters.

As for Mr Grub, James and montrehomme 50, I may not always comment, but you all do fantastic work and IMHO this forum would seriously miss any of you if you decided to stop posting.

As a side note....... I Pm'd Maets a few weeks ago saying long time no see and I miss him, he replied saying he's been really busy and does intend to return soon.

Rambling now, so...........

James, I agree whole heartedly, I build for the pleasure, and, because what I build is always sold, after I get some pleasure out of it, there is always a buyer, and I couldn't possibly keep every piece, the house would be cluttered Smiley
I show the pieces on here, so that it gives a flavour of what I do, and I know that like Selected, certain pieces have inspired others to 'have a go', which must be a good thing.

I don't always comment on every new pic, but I am watching - so, perhaps you can say to yourself after posting new work, "Well, Banfili will have seen it, and put put more popcorn on, even if she doesn't always comment!"  Grin

The cats out of the bag.
You and Mr SeVeNeVeS are all over it.

Thanks for the comments, It will be good to see Maets back.
Just trying to keep the forum alive here, I realise most people just want to see an end product.
Let's put some pop corn on, inspire and be inspired hopefully.
Cheers
