I finally got around to making a prototype of an idea I've had for a very long time, copper and brass construction with a piece of acrylic tube, illuminated by a 12v LED.

Nice! I imagine the power is from AA type cells inside the tube?

Thanks, it's actually a small 12v battery (a23) in the handle and a 12v LED, nice and simple.

As always, that is really elegant - just you thing you need for navigating fog-shrouded streets whilst hunting down old Jack or Mr Hyde.

Yours,
Miranda.

And for a little personal protection, you might want to incorporate one of these:

You may want to check with local laws first.  But the way I see it, if someone is attacking me, all's fair.

Of course, this comes from:

Fun! I craft in the same materials and its fun to see this design. Turned out great. Is there album of close up shots so one can make out each part?

Mr. Hektor Plasm ,
Do you have a source for those Telephone Batteries?  (They are kinda BIG compared to todays telephone (cell) batteries aren't they?)
I've found sources for the paper on the outside but not for a working battery.  Sad
