The roll call has begun.

Clare Hollingworth, aged 105. Journalist and war correspondent, 1911-2017. Hollingworth broke the news of the German invasion of Poland in 1939 two days before the newsreels, and, much later, the defection and escape of Kim Philby to Moscow. Hollingworth was primarily a war correspondent.

Not a list for politicians or prominent military personnel, unless they have made a major contribution to the cultural world.

He will be missed - he had such a distinctive voice, he was always the first one you recognised in cartoons / animation / CGI voice-overs etc.

Still, I think he will mostly be remembered for "That One Movie Scene"...

What do you mean that's not the scene you were thinking of?... Wink

Adam West: TV Batman actor dies at 88. Sad

Adam West was never afraid to poke fun at himself, or his alter ego Batman. That is why he features in so many recent cult TV shows as a character based on himself. While he never made it to be a "big time star" and struggled to find work, EVERYONE knows who he is, and will continue to remember him - which is as much as an actor can hope for.

Irish Poet Domhnall Mac Síthigh (Danny Sheehy) dies after boat capsizes off Spain. The accident that caused death of Danny Sheehy occurred near the mouth of the river Minho. Tributes have been paid to Kerry poet Danny Sheehy, who died after a naomhóg in which he was one of four crew capsized off the Iberian coast.
Experienced seamanv Mr Sheehy, a father of three grown-up children, was an award-winning writer, broadcaster and farmer with much experience at sea. He circumnavigated Ireland in a traditional naomhóg, or Kerry currach, with Ger Ó Ciobháin in 1975, and also rowed to Iona in Scotland.
Mr Sheehy had built the Naomh Gobnait with fellow crew for the Camino na Sáile or “camino by sea” – a three-summer voyage from Ireland to northern Spain completed in late June 2016, and documented by film-maker Dónal Ó Céilleachair.

Died Batalov. "Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, film Director, screenwriter, teacher and master of the word (reader) and a public figure" as Wikipedia says.

He was 88 years old.

A great actor, it was a pleasure to watch.

Most famous role - Gogh, in the movie "Moscow does not believe in tears". The film received Oscar.

In General, really sorry, and I even upset. Remember his role and sadly.

Actress Carol Lee Scott, who was best known as Grotbags the witch, has died at the age of 74.
She appeared in children's programmes in the 1980s and early 1990s, including ITV's Rod Hull's Emu's World.
Her family confirmed the news on social media, with her niece Gina Mear writing on Facebook on Wednesday that the actress had "lost her brave fight against cancer".
"To many of you she was Grotbags - a legend!" she said.

Died actor Vladimir Tolokonnikov.

He was an actor in the national Academic theatre of Russian drama named after Lermontov in Alma-ATA.

But it did one role of the Polygraph Polygraphovich Sharikov, in the film adaptation of Bulgakov's novel "heart of a Dog".

He played a major role in the film P. V. Tochilina "}{0ТТ@БЬ)Ч" For this role he received the MTV movie awards-2007 in the nomination "Best Comedy role".

He had other roles in movies and on TV. He's a good actor. But the Sharikov he swallowed.
