Pah!  21 is the number to beat.

Very well, sir; your challenge is accepted.  We may not be able to manage something until our next Steampunk NZ Festival in May next year, but we'll see what we can do.

There will have been 2 further Surrey Convivials by then, the target figure may well have raised.

We'll just have to see how it all stacks up (a-hyuk).

In the meantime, one and all: let's see your hatstacks.

Obviously all the hatstacks we've seen so far and group efforts, but I wonder if there is a category for single ownership hatstacks?

Now there's a thought.  How many hats do you possess, madam?  Might I request (ahem) a look at your stack?

Stop that, down the back there!

I would probably need a stepladder if I was including all my hats, not just the steampunk ones!  But I do seem to have a fair few toppers, bowlers and pith helmets, so I may have a go at 'self-stacking' .......

There's a new event! 'Individual Hat Stacking' - add that to 'Team Hat Stacking' (or 'Headwear', if preferred) and it may become a modern Olympic sport!

This is what just 14 of the West Midlands lot achieved today....

It started out as a hat tower but quickly got out of hand and ran to picnic hampers, canes and umbrellas.

I had not heard of this until just now, but my family created one during last year's Motor City Steam Con.

This year's Steampunk New Zealand Festival is getting underway, and so are the hatstacks.  An unsupported 10, last night:

We'll see if we can't do better as the weekend progresses.

That's my understanding. I was hoping to do something about it on Saturday night but we ran out of time. Maybe next year ...
