- whilst waiting for something else to dry...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It too, requires to dry, hence the white, leprous patches . More pictures later.

Nice and gory - it looks poised to crawl off and do someone some harm!

Yes indeed- I shall instruct a servant to stand over it with some nails and a hammer. It's not supposed to do that.

Not yet.  Grin

Loving it!, looks like something the cat dragged in.
Whilst staying with Irish relatives once in Kells, there was a huge downpour.  It lasted for hours, and did a lot of damage, not least to
the local ancient cemetery, where a retaining wall of the graveyard collapsed.  For days afterwards, local dogs could be seen carrying home bones, of, lets say, the non butchers shop variety!.
This reminds me of that gruesome occurrence.

Well, thanks! That's quite a compliment, I think Smiley.

I'm awaiting some charcoal powder to make some 'mummy dust' for that finishing touch.

Then a hint of dog repellent...

A fine sample of adipocere. As someone who's made three hands so far, I have to say well done!

Wow- thanks again! I was thinking it might be a little bit too wrinkled- it was supposed to be a Hand of Glory, and I was working from the Whitby museum example, but I think the bones were a bit thin. I do like it as a mummified thing though.
Next time, I'll go with something fatter, and hollow, as I quite fancy making one that can move a bit. (Watch out, Harry Potter!  Smiley  )

However, it is just possible that this hand fell into a deep-fat fryer during its preparation... or before.  Cool

Are you not thinking of a Hamlet. A Cheese Hamlet.
Or is that a village in Switzerland?

Go to it! I'm finding it troublesome to find just the right colours- I guess I'll just have to make a few more!

Thanks!

Indeed it might!

I wonder if transparent Jiffy bags are available... I could send it to you, but I can't be responsible for the uniforms on the delivery chaps.
I assume postmen aren't usually armed down there... Grin

Most of our mail gets delivered by unarmed posties on dodgy looking motor scooters... I fear this one would be delivered by a vehicle with some form of flashing lights and siren Wink

Unless you live in a place too small for a postie on a red motor bike - then you have to go up to the post office and get it yourself!
