Very interesting reading.
And for no other reason than I like this photograph and we now own the original.

A Police Surgeon based at Bishopsgate c 1888 (During the time of the 'Ripper' case)
Unfortunately there's no record of the surgeon's name.
However, in his arms is the Police 'mascot' who went by the name of 'Big Chap'.
