Coconino county is a french site dedicated to late XIX and early XX century cartoons. The site is in french (it's the only damn thing those fellaws speak, I suppose) but has some very nice portofolios of that time period artists: american, french, german, japanese, etc.

Check it at http://www.coconino-world.com, especially the classic section http://www.coconino-world.com/s_classics_v3/mng_classics.php.

Of special interest is a series of images, drawn by a Mr W. R. Leigh on the "creatures from Mars", with texts by H. G. Wells : http://www.coconino-world.com/sites_auteurs/leigh/index.html
