Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
Steampunk Madrid invites you to our first annual Air Kraken Day literary celebration.
All steamers around the world are invited to join in a homage to this splendid icon of steampunk.

I hope to see your entries posted in the events commentaries.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
Since this is a literary event, rather than a meeting, shouldn't I have have posted it up in "Textual", rather than "Europe"?

Could this thread be moved to "Textual", please?

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
We already have a good catch of images, texts and poetry in the comments section of the event!
The deadline's tomorrow at high noon yet there's still time to get an entry of yours included in the blog article!

At the time I'm reading this, the deadline will have long passed. However, might it be acceptable to try my hand at a small bit of prose, for posting to this thread?

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
By all means, admiral! If you like, I can have it added to the blog entry. No problem

A small number of us from Steampunk Madrid gathered last night in Erté, the Madrileñan pub reckoned to have the best barrel Guinness in the city.
We celebrated the tremendous success of the homage (16 steamers from around the world contributed their creative efforts!), and the day's patron saint with Guinness and Smithwick's.
We've also instituted a new custom, that of "Baptising the Kraken". I have a small bronze kraken on a silver chain and it was ceremoniously dipped into each pint after the round's toast.

Here's a link to the blog entry as it stands.

Though the majority of contributions are in Spanish, at the beginning there are two Haiku and a most curious newspaper clipping in English. One of the jokes of the clipping is that Barajas, once a sleepy village, is now Madrid's airport.
