The surgical scenes performed with steampunky artifacts sometimes make you watch with one eye.

Having read the wiki, seem to remember reading something somewhen about the actual hospital, or it featured in a book (probably detective/crime fiction). Will have a peek when it turns up in Oz. Will probably be on pay tv, though!

I can send it to you free of charge.
I don't see the point in keeping movies/video's once I have seen them.

It's an excellent, if gruesome, series. It doesn't sugar-coat the racism, sexism and elitism of that era but is definitely worth watching.

(and no spoilers, but you won't be disappointed by series 2 when you get to watch it)

Looks pretty interesting. I'm still chewing my way through a number of Netflix box sets.

I managed to find both series, all 20 episodes online.

Finished a back to back viewing today.......Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Many thanks Mr Grub for bringing this to my attention.

Seasons 1 and 2 were shown in the U.K. On the Sky Atlantic satellite channel.
There's no news on a 3rd series.
