If you were the leader of a steampunk nation, what would be his national anthem ?

The word pagan came from paganus , who mean peasant . Its was a way to significate than christianism was the religion of the elite and paganism the one of the savage worker class.

''Trickster shows us how we trick OURSELVES. Her rampant curiosity backfires, but, then, something NEW is discovered (though usually not what She expected)! This is where creativity comes from—experiment, do something different, maybe even something forbidden, and voila! A breakthrough occurs! Ha! Ha! We are released! The world is created anew! Do something backwards, break your own traditions, the barrier breaks; destroy the world as you know it, let the new in.''

My general anthem is Whiskey in the Jar Metallica version.  It would fit the culture of any steampunk nation I was  involved  in forming .  As would the video.

Train  in Vain - The Clash would be the other option .

The series was absolute crap, historically (not to mention geographically - there are no mountains, for example, only rolling hills, around the areas depicted), but the theme would make a great anthem for the Grand Republic of Texas of my character J.S. Dreyfuss from the steam London RP, as it is an expanded version of Will You Come To The Bower?, the actual tune played by the RL Texians, as they marched on the Mexican camp in the start of the battle of San Jacinto.

But I'd be more partial, myself, to the original version of the Yellow Rose of Texas, also a tune of the Texian revolutionary era (yes, I know, everybody says the YROT is a "confederate" tune, but that's a later version and the melody is different. The one played here is the original, and it dates from the 1840s. So there Wink.

The Marching Song of Hope Aerie, a province of the fictional Nation of Nordironia (Yes, hello, how've you been...):

(Yes, it's The old German folk song Muss I Denn Zum Stadtele Hinaus; also the inspiration for Elvis Presley's Wooden Heart).

Pater Moeskroen en de Kelten - Zingen als een Ier

going with this "singing like an irishman"

the lyrics are amazing.

"give me the hunour of an Englishman,
The passion of a Scot,
The Willpower of the welsh,
And to conclude,
Dear god,
Let me sing Like an Irishman.
a song full of melancholy,
and then one of joy"
