to Me, Steampunk is a Way & Means to Create and Show How People see things through a Different Lens than How Many Define things. and a Way of Showing Vreativity & Style and Also that Craftsmanship ISN'T Dead!

I chose Air force but a unit naval and airforce is probably more accurate so that the same ranks would be used.

I recently encountered this in another thread, and, having never heard it expressed quite this way, I find I rather like it:

"What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner."

A past that never happened.

Tomorrow yesterday.

We attended every SP panel at All-Con 2016 in Dallas, TX. The recurring statements were:

SP has no cannon.
It's based, to varying degrees, on Victorian England, but the 19th century happened all over the globe.
It's sci-fi. It's history-fi. It's not reenactment.
It's an aesthetic that can be applied to anything.

A brass can full of mechanical worms.

To me, Steampunk is "what if"...
Things that could have happen or should have happened...

Now that, sir, belongs on a plaque in the pub.
