I think is a good idea to make a list of the memes and slang words who grew in the steampunk community over the years.

Airship

Air Pirates

Air Kraken And Cephalopod In General

Lovecraftian Mythology

Dr Who << Um Dr who has been around longer then some of the forumites!

Firefly And Serenity

Coglings

 Steampunker

"Put Some Gear On It And Call It Steampunk"

Steampunking Pop Culture (Extra Points If It Is Star Wars)

POD,OTL( not really exclusive to steampunk but related enought)

Butterfly Away ( another related to alternate history in general)

Draka (and another)

Anyone i miss ?

The word pagan came from paganus , who mean peasant . Its was a way to significate than christianism was the religion of the elite and paganism the one of the savage worker class.

''Trickster shows us how we trick OURSELVES. Her rampant curiosity backfires, but, then, something NEW is discovered (though usually not what She expected)! This is where creativity comes from—experiment, do something different, maybe even something forbidden, and voila! A breakthrough occurs! Ha! Ha! We are released! The world is created anew! Do something backwards, break your own traditions, the barrier breaks; destroy the world as you know it, let the new in.''

Oh that ? I just wanted to differentiate this thread who is about the running gags and lexicon of the steampunk community with the " steampunk slang" who were about the hypothetical slang of a steampunk world. Sorry for the confusion.
