I am designing a text based video game revolving around a rich and engaging steampunk story. I need help learning more about steampunk and the culture. I am very interested in steampunk as something to get into but I need a mentor.

What is better than one mentor, how about hundreds of mentors.  Here on Brass Goggles there is a wide range of talent and interests.  Read the threads and post specific questions.  Welcome to Brass Goggles.

Thank you, but I rather intend to proceed closely with a specific individual rather than many. So as to get a quicker response and understanding.

I'm not really sure if Steampunk lends itself to that sort of mentoring. For us it's primarily about personal perspective and interpretation, and if you hew too closely to someone else's perspective, you'll just end up with someone else's interpretation rather than your own. I'm afraid there is no quick, easy way to get there.

Perhaps if you have specific questions we could help better.

Some ideas:

The cargo hold of an airship.
Inside a clock tower.

I'll think about it some more.

clock tower would work perfectly. another option would, perhaps, be a manor of sorts.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.

Clock tower. Yes, the clock tower.

I remain yours,
