So this is an Idea I've been bouncing around for a little while in my head. The inspiration was Herr Drosselmeyer's Doll by Abney Park.  Basically the idea is to make a steampunk character named Herr Drosselmeyer or at most have it be a codename. The character would be an eccentric inventor of clockwork marvels. Various 'dolls' and the like under his control. One in particular would be a gorgeous one in the form of a young woman he refers to as 'His Muse' The Muse would be an accomplished fighting machine likely with the rapier or such. The muse has autonomous thought and is capable of thinking for itself while most of the 'dolls' are simply mechanical drones of a sort.

Beyond this I really have little in terms of ideas for him. It just seems it could be an interesting character idea to expand upon. While for steampunk I already have a persona I was tempted to take this up at the persona instead. My persona is similar, an inventor and such.  Any thoughts anyone might have would be appreciated.

I've thought about making him in Mutants and Masterminds before. The concept wouldn't be to terribly hard to build in that.

Here is the song that was the inspiration.

Cool, you could have mechanical Matroshka dolls; each one opening itself and pulling a smaller one out...I have no idea where that came from. Interesting concept, tho

This subject has been touched sometime ago...

If I remember correctly, here was some of what I suggested:

1. There are a few of these around... Drosselmeyer's Doll

2. Perhaps you can even swap the genders or better yet create a "doll who creates dolls." For literary inspiration (not necessarily a doll, but a magical-doll maker) is the character, "Keratin Jane" by NibbleKat; basically the story of a very young female assasin; an anti hero who gets maimed early on in her career, and as she is disfigured, she constantly is hiding behind a mask , but possesses the power to create dolls who come to life.

And my favourite rendition by Artist Loish:

Yeah I was aware that was where the concept came from. Easily could have a female varient called Frau Drosselmeyer too. Just a thought for stuff to do. The partly mechanical idea would be neat for either. Had to partially repair self with your own doll parts.  But yeah would deffinatly be an interesting Steampunk idea for someone to do

In the world of Genderbent Cosplay and steampunk,
Frau Drosselmeyer sound like a good idea.
