Did one of the Colonial Marines in Alien have a helmet-mounted gun, or was it a camera?

The recoil would take your hat right off.  Good for a single use, but certainly not stealthy.

I was led to believe this was an actual thing, although I have no idea if this ever advanced beyond the paper proposal. Anyone know anything more substantive?

All had helmet cameras, I believe Frosts was faulty and needed percussive maintains (he hits his head against the side of the APC's restraining harnesses)

If you have a gun mounted on that "helmet", you should reconsider the sorts of pick-up joints you frequent...
