We have composed a poetic steampunk tribute to one of our favourite poets of all time, Mr John Cooper Clarke, updating one of his classics and giving it a bit of a steampunk spin. Let us know what you think!

Evidently Chuffingtown

The chuffing cogs are chuffing clean
To chuffing chug out chuffing steam
The chuffing trains are chuffing fine
That chuff along a chuffing line
At chuffing speed and chuffing pelt
The chuffing kids in chuffing felt
Are nowhere to be chuffing found
Anywhere in Chuffingtown

The chuffing steam is chuffing punk
The chuffing news is chuffing bunk
The chuffing fog is chuffing thick
The chuffing speed makes you chuffing sick
The chuffing fellows are chuffing daft
Don't make me chuffing laugh!
It's chuffing irksome to look around
Everywhere in Chuffingtown

The chuffing train is chuffing late
You chuffing wait you chuffing wait
You're chuffing lost and chuffing found
Stuck in chuffing Chuffingtown

The chuffing view is rather wild
For chuffing miles and chuffing miles
The chuffing turbines chuffing wail
The chuffing automatons chuffing fail
The chuffing food is chuffing muck
The chuffing drains are chuffing stuck
The colour scheme is mottled brown
Everywhere in Chuffingtown

The chuffing pubs are chuffing full
The chuffing clubs are chuffing dull
Of chuffing ladies and chuffing gents
In chuffing trilbies with chuffing vents
A chuffing bloke is chuffing stabbed
Waiting for a hansome cab
You take your chuffing airship home
You chuff "hollah!" to Sherlock Holmes
Keep the chuffing racket down!
This is chuffing Chuffingtown

The chuffing peas are chuffing soup
The chuffing eels are chuffing goop
The chuffing beer is chuffing bubbly
The chuffing barmaids are chuffing lovely
The chuffing clocks are chuffing wrong
The chuffing days are chuffing long
You're chuffing sure Cthulu's in Chuffingtown
Evidently Chuffingtown
The chuffing train is chuffing late
You chuffing wait you chuffing wait
You're chuffing lost and chuffing found
Stuck in chuffing Chuffingtown

I like it!

A lot cleaner than the poem (I assume) it is based on; Halkirk, I think it is called?
