We will have to do something about this....... Pressure test in the shower A savage hack job reveals And I'm sure this will fit somewhere To the bits box and the plumbing fittings. Not sure how long this may take, but we could have a cunning plan........ ~SeVeN~

That's gonna turn out awesome!! Just make sure the next person in the house likes it too, or else you may lose all your hard work to a boring housewife!

I thought you were making an elaborate cover to the radiator. Are you actually making a radiator and replacing the existing??

The plan is to remove the existing white Rad and replace with a working steampunk inspired design, all plumbed in and getting hot, connected to the central heating. It dosn't have to get that hot as it sits in the same room and opposite my woodburner. ~SeVeN~

Fear not, this is a most interesting thread! I must confess that I too have fallen in the trap of reading and not commenting... The plan is to remove the existing white Rad and replace with a working steampunk inspired design, all plumbed in and getting hot, connected to the central heating.
Correction : this is a most interesting and very impressive thread!! I thought it was just a rad cover too! I am very keen to find out how well this works out - this is something I have been considering for a long time, to replace two large white panel rads in my house... Excellent!

I'm so glad people are interested, it spurs one on. My only fear is it turns out crap The steam engine temperature gauge failed miserably on a water test, so will have to be used as decoration I don't want to mess with it as things might go wrong and I don't like the idea of breakage. Now for the boring bit......... I am sacrificing a bit of efficiency for effect on this. The new rad is 2/3 watts of the original, but in this situation, in winter the woodburner produces the heat in the room and the rad is usually turned down low on the TRV from the boiler. Speaking of TRV's just found these on e-bay and the shop is in my home town The woodburner ~SeVeN~

After the failure of the thermometer water test. I thought about making a dry pocket but I'm happy with attaching it above the flow so should still work..... to a degree (get it? oh never mind ) Lights? do we need lights? LED. NO. Could be getting carried away here, no, well maybe........ NO! OK, I've decided to maybe use some glow in the dark fish tank gravel and test tubes I have kicking around. ~SeVeN~
