I am currently writing a SP play based on the imagined effects of Charles Babbage's Difference Engine on society had it come to fruition.  I would be so grateful to this community of experts if anyone was interested in reading it and offering feedback.  I'm unsure of the etiquette regarding private information, so I will check this message thread frequently for anyone who wishes to review and comment.

Check out this Analytical Engine simulator. That site has most of the original Analytical Engine papers, and discussions of the architecture of the machine from a modern programmer's point of view.
